WHAT IS SPC

SPC vinyl flooring stands for Stone Polymer Composite vinyl flooring, also called rigid vinyl flooring, which features a stable core comprising natural limestone powder, polyvinyl chloride, and stabilizers. SPC vinyl flooring regarded as an upgrade version of luxury vinyl flooring.

CONSTRUCTION OF SPC FLOORING​​​​​​​

  • UV Coating
    This layer is a surface that protects against UV radiation and provides high resistance to wear and stain.
  • Wear Layer
    This is a transparent layer that enhances the resistance to scratches and stains. 
  • Decor Film
    This layer is also called the vinyl layer, which provides the decoration for the floor as it contains the pattern and the outlook of the floor.
  • SPC Core
    The core is made from a combination of natural limestone powder, and stabilizers, ensuring a stable and waterproof performance for the floor.
  • Underlay
    This layer is made from IXPE or EVA foam, which adds a soundproof performance for the floor.

    SPC Click Lock Flooring has a well-known waterproof advantage and it is not that simply waterproof. SPC vinyl flooring can be soaked in water for a long time but free from damages. Many people might think this is impossible. However, it is proved that SPC flooring is 100% waterproof after multiple tests on the floors and customers’ feedback for many years. 

     

    The main reason why SPC vinyl flooring is waterproof is its main material - Polyvinyl Chloride Resin that has no affinity with water and will not be damaged or deformed after being exposed to water, and will not be mildewed due to high moisture. SPC flooring also contains natural stone powder that is a new type of green and environmentally friendly floor decoration material. It also enhances the waterproof performance of SPC flooring. 

     

    Polyvinyl chloride is widely used for tableware, medical infusion bag,etc. It has reached the E0 class of environmental protection. From its waterproof performance, SPC flooring is super suitable for the humid-climate environment and somewhere requiring high waterproof performance.

    SUB-FLOOR REQUIREMENTS FOR SPC FLOORING

    The installation of SPC flooring doesn't need an underlayment. SPC flooring can be installed over various sub-floors that must be clean, dry, smooth, and without dirt.

    SPC flooring can be installed over wood sub-floors including plywood, flakeboard, OSB, etc. All wood sub-floors must be smooth and in good condition.

    SPC flooring can be installed over concrete sub-floors. The concrete surface must be flat, dry, and free from holes and grooves.

    SPC flooring can be installed over many existing floors including sheet vinyl, ceramic tiles, marble, etc. Please note that never SPC flooring over carpet.

     Thermal & Humid Fluctuation Chamber: The chamber is used to provide the simulation of a high-temperature, low-temperature, and humid environment. We can test the performance stability of the vinyl products by detecting if there is any damage caused by the thermal expansion and contraction.
     Tensile Strength Of Click: To measure the breaking strength of the locking system of
    SPC floor.
     Peel Strength: To measure the bond strength between decor film and SPC core layer.
     Scratch Test: To test the performance of surface scratch resistance.
     Abrasion Test: To test the performance of wear layer to resist being worn away.
     Thickness: To measure the overall thickness of a vinyl floor tile/plank.
     Rectangularity: To measure the oblongness of 4 sides of the vinyl plank or tile,
    ensue each plank can be matched seamlessly.
     Glossiness: To test the gloss of the surface.
     Hardness: To test the hardness of SPC flooring.
