SUB-FLOOR PREPARATIONS FOR LVT FLOORING

It is easy and simple to install LVT flooring by yourself. But before installation, there is some preparation work that you need to know. As a responsible vinyl floor supplier, COCOROSA lists out some must-do steps as follow.

The sub-floor must be smooth and flat. Check the sub-floor if it is level, especially the concrete floor. Fill any holes with patching compound and sand down any higher spots on the surface. Any unevenness will be visible on the surface of LVT, which can lead to deformation and other problems.

The sub-floor must be dry. Wipe any water or spill on the existing floor. And test the moisture level of the concrete sub-floor, making sure the humidity never exceeds 75%. Water and alkaline substance will have a bad impact on the plasticizer of vinyl.

The sub-floor must be clean. Remove any debris and dirt by using a vacuum. LVT is susceptible to chemical residuals. Later mop the surface with warm and clean water, and then let them get dry naturally. You may start to install the LVT flooring after finishing all those preparations.
